Armando Colaco, born in Panjim in 1953, is one of India’s most respected football coaches. A visionary tactician, he revolutionized Indian football with possession-based play, guiding Dempo to five league titles and into the AFC Cup semi-finals in 2008—a national first. Deeply influenced by Valeriy Lobanovskyi, Colaco also coached India’s national team and top clubs like Churchill Brothers and East Bengal. Beginning his career as a player at Dempo, his journey spans decades of dedication. Today, he leads Sporting Clube de Goa, inspiring a new generation with his discipline, strategy, and enduring love for the beautiful game.
